Pop Judaica Announces Insta-Jew Kits and Moses Toast

As Part of Cyber Monday Fun, PopJudaica.com Offers Insta-Jew Kits: Mystery Bags of Jewish Items for Hanukkah Gifts and Moses Toast: a Piece of Toast with the Image of Moses Burned Into It. Money Raised From Sales of These Funny Jewish Gifts will Benefit the Jewish Non Profits Jewcy and JDub Records.

You can now buy $10 Insta-Jew Kits along with other funny Jewish gifts when shopping for Hanukkah gifts. Insta-Jew Kits are mystery bags containing at least three items whose value and quality are not guaranteed. One of the items will likely be a t-shirt and with it a chotsky, a CD, a book, or some underpants with Yiddish on the tuchus. Modeled after Woot.com’s Random Crap (affectionately called “Bag of Crap”) the Insta-Jew kits are a fun way to practically give away a bunch of quirky, weird Jewish stuff which has landed in our warehouse and raise money for non-profits that enrich the youthful Jewish American culture.

Moses Toast: Moses with the Ten Commandments
Moses Toast: Moses with the Ten Commandments
I’m a religious man — I knew it was a sign from G-d.”

We are allowing no returns, exchanges, special requests or kvetching when it comes to the Insta-Jew Kits. This is just a fun surprise for 10 bucks, great for Hanukkah party gag-gifts, and a way to raise money for JDub and Jewcy.

To extend the fun further, we are also announcing our recent miraculous discovery: Moses Toast. Pop Judaica employee Patrick Aleph recounts, “we were making Insta-Jew Kits and took a toast break. When I took the toast out of the oven, it had the image of Moses on it. I’m a religious man — I knew it was a sign from G-d.” Rivlin Roberts explains the Moses Toast another way: “We remembered a news story about an Ebay listing for toast with an image of Jesus on it. We were laughing and saying how Jews would never see a deity in toast. Then we decided to have some fun with it.” A Jewish take on “Jesus Toast,” Moses Toast is a piece of toast with the image of Moses holding the Ten Commandments burned into it. The toast sells for $49.95 and 100% of the proceeds go to the non-profit Jewish music and media companies Jewcy.com and JDub Records.

This week, we are featuring some exciting wood products for the design enthusiast who wants to bring nature into their home. These wonderful gifts are perfect for the neo-folk/urban primitive/Americana fan.

Wooden Kiddush Cups
On a search for new kiddush cups we wondered, "could there be a kiddush cup that reflects an earthy, eco-centered approach while at the same time holding true to modern design aesthetic?" Well, we found it! These cups are hand carved with love and are perfect for someone who likes the neo-folk or craftsman style. Enjoy Shabbat with your choice of style.

Hand carved and one of a kind.

This set of wooden dreidels are hand carved in four terrific designs. Their curious shapes are fun spin on the traditional toy. A great gift for someone who appreciates the urban cottage/arts and crafts style. All dreidels are hand carved, one of a kind, and spin -- even the square one! Tray included.

Share Hanukkah Joy Sans Funny Jewish Man In Black Hat

I'm very proud of my friends Montica Pes and Jim Davies for the video they created for No Limit Texas Dreidel. The one-and-a-half minute video is funny and sexy and captures the sophisticated fun of No Limit Texas Dreidel.

What I love most about the video is what is not in it: no ridiculous caricature of the Orthodox Jewish man with peyas, dressed in a black hat and long coat, no yiddy-diddly-do music that you find accompanying most funny Jewish videos, no nose jokes or money jokes or jokes about mom.

The video is fresh, modern, and fun -- like the game.

Great job Montica & Jim. Thank you!

Enjoy & Go All Spin Tonight:

What's New On ModernTribe

Penguin Salt and Pepper Shakers by Jonathan Adler. Renowned designer Jonathan Adler creates whimsical ceramic gems that shine with his signature "happy chic" motif. We present to you his Penguin Salt and Pepper Shakers.

Adler has created some amazing Judaica for the contemporary design customer. Some of our other favorites are the Enamel Menorah, Eve Candleholders, and the Bird Bowls.

What do penguins have to do with Judaica? Not much. Though when I was a kid I loved penguins...and I still do.

Craftsman Elephant Mezuzah for a Child. The Craftsman Elephant Mezuzah by Lev Studios introduces a new theme to ModernTribe. This sand-blasted, hand-painted maple wood mezuzah with Swarovski crystals is neo-folk and modern. The delicacy of the woodland motif reveals a cute little elephant and is adorable for a child's doorpost.

The Craftsman style is a great look for anyone who likes the "urban cottage" feel of primitive home decor in a contemporary setting.

ModernTribe also carries this youthful look in the Elephant Menorah, Ladybug Mezuzah and Ladybug Tzedakah Box.

Hip Hop Alef by Swedish Designer Anne-Marie Bernhardt. Since Aleph is my name, you have to know I'd include an aleph/alef product any chance I can! We are very excited to bring you this piece from Anne-Marie Bernhardt´s Jewish Jewelry Collection. Anne-Marie is a jewelry designer, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and educated and living in Stockholm, Sweden. A Swedish Jew designing Jewish jewelry: you'll only find this at ModernTribe!

The Hip Hop Alef is sterling silver and measures 22 mm x 23 mm (about .9 inches in diameter). It's on a 17" heavy sterling rectangular link chain.

We also have the pendant on a 20" cable chain.

Have a great week and Happy Shopping!
